Perichondritis

Perichondritis is inflammation of the tissue that covers the cartilage, most frequently that of the ear. It usually appears after an injury, a piercing, or an infection of the area.

Common symptoms: redness, pain, warmth, and swelling in the auricle, which can feel very tender to the touch.
