Mucopolysaccharidosis Type IV

MPS IV, or Morquio syndrome, is a form of mucopolysaccharidosis, an inherited metabolic disorder in which certain molecules are not properly broken down and accumulate, affecting mainly bones and joints.

How it may present: It is usually associated with growth abnormalities, deformities of the spine and chest, and joint problems; manifestations vary from one child to another.
