Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion

Branch retinal vein occlusion (known by its acronym BRVO) is a blockage in one of the branches of the veins that drain blood from the retina. When the flow is obstructed, fluid and blood accumulate in a portion of the back of the eye.

Frequent symptoms: blurred or distorted vision in a part of the visual field of a single eye, usually painless and of sudden onset.

Associated factors: it is usually related to conditions that affect the blood vessels, such as high blood pressure and other circulatory problems.
