The family physician's responsibility extends to the care of acute and chronic illnesses, whether urgent, in scheduled or on-demand consultation; promoting accessibility for the individual, both in the office and at home. Likewise, in the face of more serious problems and when deemed appropriate, the family physician will coordinate collaboration with other specialists, as well as hospital admission.
