About the Doctor

Hello, I am Dr. Miriam Quintana. I specialize in gynecology, which is responsible for women's health outside of pregnancy, that is, all aspects of health and diseases specific to women, and therefore related to their reproductive system or gender-specific condition. I am also an obstetrician, which is specifically responsible for monitoring pregnancy, including the care, risks, and complications a woman may have during pregnancy, labor, or the postpartum period (after the baby's birth), as well as fetal health. Based on my training experience in the specialty at INPer as well as years of professional practice, I have the skill and ability to care for pregnancies in healthy women and high-risk pregnancies. Another area of gynecology I have managed since 1996 is colposcopy and the study of HPV (Human Papillomavirus), which is the cause of cervical cancer and cancer throughout the genital tract, colon cancer, and head and neck cancer (specifically throat), hence the importance of its timely detection and prevention. What my consultation provides you is assistance to girls, adolescents, young women, mature women, and elderly women with obstetric and gynecological problems. I also practice preventive medicine, such as performing necessary studies for timely diagnoses of diseases like Pap smears, providing guidance on family planning methods, applying HPV vaccines, and guiding self-care of health at all stages of life. When necessary, I rely on a multidisciplinary group of colleagues and friends with experience in specialties and subspecialties.
