About the Doctor

Dr. Jacobo Saleme Cruz is a graduate of the Facultad Mexicana de Medicina of Universidad La Salle, and during his medical training took multiple courses and updates as well as rotations that defined his interest in the field of orthopedics. During his undergraduate internship at the Hospital ABC he was awarded the Nicolas Kaupfer research prize and later received recognition from CENEVAL for "Outstanding Performance" on the general knowledge exam in Medicine. He obtained second place on the National Medical Residency Exam, which allowed him access to the Graduate course in Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at the Hospital ABC, where he stood out for his performance and commitment to the course and his eagerness to learn. He obtained top rankings in the specialty's annual exams, endorsed by UNAM, during the 4 years of residency, and later became Chief Resident of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery during his fourth and final year of training. He obtained the degree of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgeon, and in addition was granted honors due to his performance on the professional exam and his thesis titled: "Cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit study of available treatment methods for clubfoot." He made multiple publications on topics related to orthopedics during his specialty. He was accepted at the "Shriners Hospital for Children" in Mexico City to complete the Advanced Specialty course in Pediatric Orthopedics, where he carried out several research protocols, winning 2nd place that year for an oral presentation with the work: "Syme-type amputation versus transtibial, which is better?" at the National Congress of the Sociedad Mexicana de Ortopedia Pediátrica, and winning 1st place in Poster with the work: "Congenital clubfoot. The Hospital's 8-year experience" Upon finishing, he joined the Orthopedics team of the Clinica Lomas Altas, focusing his work precisely at the Clinic and at the Hospital ABC Observatorio. From that point on, he developed his private practice at the institution where he trained and where he has remained for 10 years now.
