About the Doctor

I am a psychologist who works with children (from age 5) and adolescents (up to age 18), with attention to parents on parenting and the parent-child bond. My cognitive-behavioral approach allows us to identify areas of opportunity and provide tools so that your child can develop their personal, academic and social abilities to the fullest, promoting self-reflective and assertive behaviors. The structure of the therapy is as follows: it begins with a psychological assessment, consisting of an interview with the parents and one with the patient. Afterward, therapy goals are set and we work in weekly sessions with the children. Every 4 or 5 sessions, the parents come in together with the child and adjustment strategies are proposed for the family dynamics and parenting styles. Once the sessions are finished, since the goals have been met, if the patient and family agree, the patient is discharged and given a written set of strategies to continue their personal development, with an open appointment for follow-up. The advantage of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is that it works by objectives, focusing on the present and the current issue, which makes it effective in a much shorter timeframe than other therapies.
