About the Doctor

OB City Health has more than 20 years of experience in the study and management of overweight and obesity. I always seek to stay up to date to offer my patients the latest. Over this time I have come to understand that obesity is not only a chronic disease but is also a link in a chain of factors that predispose to many more diseases than we still don't know today. Today I know that a patient with obesity must be studied globally and not pigeonholed by their condition as a compulsive eater, hypothyroid, or simply the result of a genetic burden that determines their state. I have learned that an appetite blocker is not everything in managing a patient with obesity, because people also eat due to anxiety, depression, bad habits, social customs and even boredom. Today I know that obesity is a complex, diverse, multifactorial, progressive, often asymptomatic and undeniably harmful clinical entity for human beings, and that within its complexity lies not only its management but its eradication. That's why day by day bariatrics strives to learn, study and further investigate the biomolecular, biochemical, pathological, pharmacological, nutritional, psychological and social aspects that affect our patients in order to provide them with a better quality of life.
