Preventing and treating: kidney disease from diabetes, hypertension, stones (kidney stones), lupus, prostatic hypertrophy, and any other chronic and/or acute cause, as well as peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis treatments if needed. 2. Performing biopsies and placing catheters. The medical consultation consists of a comprehensive evaluation and guidance: 1. Delivery and completion of a written questionnaire with identification data and a quality-of-life questionnaire if the reason for the visit is chronic kidney disease. 2. Presentation of the reason for the visit by the patient, doctor-patient interview. 3. Vital signs measurement (blood pressure in both arms, oxygen saturation, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature) 4. Anthropometric measurements (weight, height, BMI, waist circumference) 5. Head-to-toe physical exam, with special attention to catheters if the patient has one. 6. Review and/or request of laboratory and imaging studies (X-rays, ultrasound), bioimpedance. 7. Advice, guidance, and adjustments to general measures (diet, physical activity), in treatment (prescription and/or adjustment of medications, dialysis or hemodialysis dose.
